Learjet 55

The Learjet 55, is one of the largest members in the Learjet family of mid-sized corporate jets, which were first introduced in the late 1970s. The design style of the 55, took on the wing design style of its predecessor in the series the 28/29 series, and offered a new larger ten seat capacity. The original model of the Learjet 55 waas first introduced in 1979.

The Learjet 55 was modified early on, and made several changes to the digital flightdeck, the modified wings and wingspan, an improved roomier and more comfortable interior space for passengers, and optional higher takeoff weights, which later became standard in all of the Learjet 55 models. The 55C model later introduced the Delta Fin, which gave performance enhancing features to the flight, and the 55C/ER model offered an additional fuel efficient tail cone design. The Learjet 55 was continually improved upon, and new models and features were continually introduced onto the models.

Today, the Learjet 55 series offers a powerful engine, and great design style. The mid-sized jet can attain speeds of up to 884 KM/hr, and for the most economical travel, should remain at a sped of about 778 KM/h. It can reach flight heights at about 51,000 feet, and has a two-crew, four passenger receiver of 4441 km. When empty, the Learjet 55 weighs 5832 kg (which is about 12,858 pounds), and can handle up to a max take off weight of up to 9752 kg (or 21,500 pounds).

The Learjet 55 jets dimensions are a 13.34 meter (43 feet 9 inch) wing span, the length of the jet is 16.79 meters (55 feet 1 inc), and the height of the jet is 4.47 meters (14 ft 8 inches). So, the Learjet 55 comes in a small design style, but with continual improvements, and new added features to every model, it packs a powerful punch in flight. It has been greatly improved since its initial release in late 1979, and has seen continual upgrades, changes, and new features being added on throughout the years, to become the great jet it is today.
